High-Barrier Laminates

How Do EVOH High-Barrier Laminates Extend the Shelf Life of MAP Packaging?

EVOH high-barrier laminates laminate molded fiber trays in three structures — PE/EVOH, PP/EVOH, CPET/EVOH — with Excellent water/oil/alcohol barriers, covering the full span from chilled MAP to oven (CPET/EVOH) up to 180–220 °C.

Key Characteristics of EVOH High-Barrier Laminates

Excellent all three barriers

Water, oil and alcohol barriers are all "Excellent" — suitable for heavy-flavor and juicy foods.

Three structures to choose from

PE/EVOH for chilled MAP, PP/EVOH for microwave + barrier, CPET/EVOH for oven + barrier — pick by scenario.

Easy-peel and PET sealing

PE/PP/EVOH pair with easy-peel films; CPET/EVOH pairs with PET sealing film — covers mainstream sealing options.

Shelf-life extension

High oxygen barrier significantly extends fresh-food MAP shelf life — validate by testing.

Typical Parameters of the Three EVOH Laminate Structures

EVOH Laminate FAQ

PE/EVOH or PP/EVOH — how to choose?

Pick by heating method: chilled MAP → PE/EVOH (120–130 °C resistance); microwave reheat → PP/EVOH (120–150 °C). Both rate Excellent on all three barriers.

Need oven + high barrier?

CPET/EVOH withstands 180–220 °C, giving oven + barrier in one. MOQ 3000 kg, with structures CPET35+EVOH45 to CPET50+EVOH150.

Does EVOH barrier drop in humid conditions?

EVOH loses barrier at high humidity — that's an inherent material characteristic. DNW laminate structures are designed to protect it; verify by testing.
