Which film is best for molded fiber trays?

It depends on the food application, temperature range and required performance. Use the film selection tool above for a preliminary recommendation; the final structure requires tray geometry and testing.

Can molded fiber trays be used for MAP?

Yes. The key is the film's oxygen barrier performance and seal integrity — typically an EVOH high-barrier multilayer structure.

What film thickness should I use?

Consider the stretch ratio and post-forming thickness distribution. Deep-draw trays need thicker starting film to maintain minimum corner thickness and barrier.

How much does film stretch during lamination?

The stretch ratio is determined by tray geometry (length, width, depth and surface area) and directly governs the final film thickness distribution.

How can I improve food release?

Film surface energy, release layer selection and temperature control can significantly reduce food adhesion and improve presentation.

Can molded fiber trays be vacuum skin packaged?

Yes. VSP demands high film stretchability and conformity — typically EVOH/PET structures with optimized tooling radii.
